Patrice

Patrice is based on a design that I (Mario) made for myself in 2017. Actually, you won't believe it, it started with a T-Style, that I've built for a customer. Tonewise and haptically, I liked it so much, that I thought about my own realization of the design. I wanted the woods and the hardware to be the same, but a totally different look. What resulted back then, was already close to Patrices looks.

In 2022, 5 years later, I had the opportunity to perfect the design for our exhibition at the Guitar Summit. Robin and I changed some curves and the central axis to improve the proportions, and discussed the woods and the hardware.

For the pickups, we decided for TV Jones Classics (Filtertron style pickups), that can be controlled with a toggle switch, a master tone and a master volume pot. To complement the clear looks, we use a Schaller Signum and Schaller speed knobs. The machines are M6 Mini by Schaller.

Die Kombination von Ahornhals und -griffbrett zusammen mit einem Thermo-Erle-Body stand schon länger fest, und dazu passte das freche Ananassaft-Gelb einfach zu gut! Das wunderbare Rigelahorn-Giriffbrett habe ich mit verschleißarmen Wagner-Gold-Bünden im 6105-Format bundiert, wodurch sich Patrice zusammen mit dem schlanken C-Profil wunderbar modern bespielen lässt. Dots gibts nur auf der Griffbrettkante in schickem schwarzen Perlmutt.

The sound matches the clean looks. Especially the neck pickup shows the tight low end that is original to our guitars. The bridge pickup does the same but with more power and bite. The middle position mixes that and clears up the tone.

On the whole, I am very happy with Patrice, the continuation of my original design.
