Arschgeige

This guitar is a custom build. The customer wanted it big because he is, too. But it should not be heavy, so we made the body semi hollow. The silhoutte is oriented to a Rickenbacker 330 but he wanted the rather female shape of a guitar to be carried to extremes, so we shaped a big butt. We pick these pointed lines up in the waist. The ‚erotic‘ theme of the guitar is underlined with the red lacquer and the black hardware. The only inlay is a yellow mother of pearl rhomb.

The customers expectations to the sound: This guitar should scream. The resonant semi-hollow body is a good basis for that. We recommended the Schaller 2in1 pickup that sound close to the old DiMarzio Super Distortion, a high output humbucker with a wide frequency spectrum and without the midpeak that other high outputs have. The extra long scale of 660mm makes the tone more sharp and allows lower tunings.

The result is a rock guitar with great playability up to the highest fret and a very special look. The name, by the way, is a wordplay: Literally, Arschgeige means ass violin but it is an insult, similiar to dickhead. I am happy that I had to build the german version…
